daffodil
daffodil souls like sprites among the trees
fairies that gather moss frolicking in the sun, then disappear
putting my mind at ease
they talk on the air, floating
while perfectly in tune, with the melody playing quietly, within me
dancing on the winds, they gather my secrets
saving enough for dreams
they appear as flowers should anyone else come near
dear ones of the forrested realms
tending to the sacred arts of transformation and renewal
gathering the dew from blades of grass
they glory in light but know the dark
threading delight into each afternoon
the fabric of day a part of their hearts
swimming in tears, they turn sadness into joy
tiny footprints, the only evidence they leave
grasshoppers and ladybugs on a lazy day
my soul becomes one with the magic
daffodil souls and merry making
tracing thoughts on the air
mesmerizing, with their song
it tinkles as wind chimes
though I wander the mortal realm
I'm home among them
they say little tree where are your roots?
seeking wisdom from within
I utter they linger inside me
written honesty on the petals of my heart
