WINTER'S HEAT

Sometimes in winter
in the snow of your body
there simmered a heat

in a vivacious spring
fell a sweet calamity
as love began to jell

don't you remember
my dream's river stirred
and the nemesis in summer?

wedged between me and you
was jinx that rains
to remind of age and passion

the growing jungles and the blues
empaling warmth and vigor
an end we always detest
