Disapointment

They say when you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
I beg to differ and insist upon thee
Anything my heart desire will not come to me
These stellar entities are out of wishes
Overworked and burnt out the galaxy glitches

Fate is kind, the song goes
She brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing

Well I've lived long enough to know that is not true
Spent most of my adult life longing for You
Prayed you'd come to no avail
Wishes, love and effort to just see it fail

Maybe the universe is against it
Maybe i'm barking up the wrong tree
Maybe my wishes are upon the wrong luminous celestial body

I now pledge, that my future desires craves and wants will be howled towards the moon...

Author's Note
Hopes and dreams will not become real just by wishing for them. You need to take action in the direction needed. However, while doing so, one might choose to wish upon something just in case ...
