Tell Me..?
I see you there, in the glass again,
Eyes like strangers, don’t know where you’ve been.
You don’t look at me; you just look through—
Who the hell am I talking to?
I try to smile, but it’s out of place,
You just stare with that same blank face.
Tell me, do you feel the way I do?
Like everything’s broken, and it’s all on you?
Tell me why you can’t love me.
Why you let the cracks run so deep.
Tell me why you hide your face,
Like you’re ashamed to take up space.
I’m begging you—just one time—
Look at me, maybe even smile.
When did we fall so far apart?
I lost you somewhere in the dark.
I tried to hold you; I tried to care,
But you’re a weight I can’t repair.
I’m sorry for the things I’ve done,
The wars I started, the ones I won.
But you just stand there, quiet and still,
Like you don’t believe I ever will.
Tell me why you can’t love me.
Why you let the cracks run so deep.
Tell me why you hide your face,
Like you’re ashamed to take up space.
I’m begging you—just one time—
Look at me, maybe even smile.
If I could break the glass, I would.
Pull you out, make you something good.
But you’re too far, and I’m too weak—
I can’t save what doesn’t speak.
Why can’t you forgive me?
Why can’t I forgive me?
Tell me why you can’t love me.
Why you let the cracks run so deep.
Tell me why you won’t even try,
Why I’m the one you leave behind.
I’m begging you—just this time—
Look at me, maybe even smile.
I see you there in the glass again,
Eyes like strangers, don’t know where you’ve been.
I try to smile, but it’s out of place—
You just stare with that same blank face.
