Echoes of You
You’ve gone somewhere I can’t follow,
A hollow path, a silent sorrow.
Your eyes don’t meet mine anymore,
You’ve locked the light behind a door.
I reach for you, but you’re not there,
A phantom caught in empty air.
Where did you go?
What did you see?
We’re left with shadows
Where you should be.
You’re slipping through,
We’re losing the fight—
A ghost in the day,
A wisp in the night.
What have you found, so far, so deep?
What takes your soul while we can’t sleep?
Your silence screams, your shadow shakes,
A fragile thread that twists and breaks.
We call your name, but you don’t hear,
You’re drowning in something we can’t clear.
We see the cracks, but not the pain,
A riddle we can’t solve or contain.
What holds you now? What keeps you bound?
What drags you under without a sound?
Where did you go?
What calls your name?
A pull we can’t touch,
A force we can’t tame.
You’re slipping through,
We’re losing the fight—
A ghost in the day,
A wisp in the night.
You’re still here, but not the same,
A fading spark, a fleeting flame.
We hold the pieces, we hold the pain,
But we can’t bring you back again.
We search the spaces you leave behind,
Fragments of you we’ll never find.
We carry the weight, but it’s not enough,
Your fragile world is falling rough.
What can we do, but watch and wait?
Helpless witnesses to your fate.
