Rainbow


We have a rainbow between us,
you and I.
And though you may be unable to see it
I can spot it with my eye.

There is so much color,
beautiful and true!
And it is a triple rainbow!
No. Not just a single one.
At the other end, my pot of gold.
At the other end maybe you.

Maybe this is just a dream
from which I do not want to awaken.
I only know you in dreams this way.
My god, my heart you have taken!

Is this rainbow somehow in your world?
Would you spot it if you tried
 or is there some crazy leprechaun
that long ago died?

I want to be in your world.
Does that other end reach to you?
Could we blend within the colors
in everything we do

or will this rainbow fade within the rain
with the sun soon peeking through?
Another beautiful day
alas time soon for saying adieu.

There is a rainbow between us
but they never last for long.
The colors, they already fade
like that crazy leprechaun's song.

That pot of gold, is it real
or do legends really die?
Ah! Comes the warmth of the sun.
