Tether
I cut the thread, but it won’t break,
A lifeline drowned beneath the weight.
You are the shadow in my lungs,
The ghost that sings when songs are done.
I tried to leave, but you remain,
A brand of fire carved in my name.
And every time I turn away,
Your voice becomes my only way.
Tether me—
I can’t escape.
Tie me tighter—
Seal my fate.
Your love’s a blade that scars my skin,
A war I fight, I’ll never win.
I burned the altar, burned the shrine,
But still, you’re etched into my spine.
Your eyes are voids I dare not meet,
Yet every step drags me to your feet.
I tried to run, but I return,
A moth consumed by flames that burn.
And every time I pull away,
Your hands remind me why I stay.
Tether me—
I can’t escape.
Tie me tighter—
Seal my fate.
Your love’s a blade that scars my skin,
A war I fight, I’ll never win.
Take the pieces I’ve been saving,
Strip my soul, leave me craving.
I am yours, a fractured shell,
A willing prisoner in your hell.
No absolution, no reprieve,
You are the wound I won’t let heal.
Tether me—
I’ll fade away.
Break me down—
Make me obey.
Your love’s a chain I beg to wear,
A hollow vow, a desperate prayer.
And when I’m gone, you’ll linger still,
A shadow clinging to my will.
I am the tether, bound to you,
And I’ll fall deeper—endless, through.
A lifeline drowned beneath the weight.
You are the shadow in my lungs,
The ghost that sings when songs are done.
I tried to leave, but you remain,
A brand of fire carved in my name.
And every time I turn away,
Your voice becomes my only way.
Tether me—
