Image for the poem In Morpheus

In Morpheus' Arms

Sleep, little brother of death
Darkness captures me
Silence surrounds me
Total loss of control
Surrender to my nightly visions

Colorful dream pictures
Mysterious encounters
Sweet little secrets
Bizarre scenarios
What's this all about?

In my sleep I'm most awake
All senses are sharpened
No distractions by social noise
My subconscious is open to
Guidance of a higher power

Sleeping isn't an escape to me
But a fountain of inspiration
Symbols are the language of dreams
Waiting to be deciphered
To give answers and advice

Before I enter the land of dreams
I ask for solutions and ideas
Knowing that I'll be shown new ways
While sleeping peacefully
In Morpheus' strong arms
