Wages of The Faithless
In depths unseen, beneath the endless night
Where shadows writhe and whisper of despair
I walked, alone, beneath an empty light
To witness what awaits the soul laid bare
No angels’ song, no holy trumpets sound
Only the hollow moan of desolate cries
For here, where souls in darkness are unbound
The Faithless walk with vacant hopeless eyes
Their steps are slow, their hearts are cold as stone
The wages earned for turning from the truth
In endless grief, they walk, yet walk alone
Their faith forsaken in the fleeting youth
Oh cursed be the heart that spurns the flame
That seeks the world and all its hollow gain!
For in this void, there is no hope, no name
Only the chains of eternal empty pain
Here in the gloom, the winds of sorrow wail
Their voices drown in rivers black as sin
The Faithless, lost, without a chance to sail
Beyond the shore where light and peace begin
So heed this warning, O ye sons of dust
Forsake the path that leads to endless dark
For only through the Faith can man find trust
And step from away sin cold and stark
Where shadows writhe and whisper of despair
I walked, alone, beneath an empty light
To witness what awaits the soul laid bare
No angels’ song, no holy trumpets sound
Only the hollow moan of desolate cries
For here, where souls in darkness are unbound
The Faithless walk with vacant hopeless eyes
Their steps are slow, their hearts are cold as stone
The wages earned for turning from the truth
In endless grief, they walk, yet walk alone
Their faith forsaken in the fleeting youth
Oh cursed be the heart that spurns the flame
That seeks the world and all its hollow gain!
For in this void, there is no hope, no name
Only the chains of eternal empty pain
Here in the gloom, the winds of sorrow wail
Their voices drown in rivers black as sin
The Faithless, lost, without a chance to sail
Beyond the shore where light and peace begin
So heed this warning, O ye sons of dust
Forsake the path that leads to endless dark
For only through the Faith can man find trust
And step from away sin cold and stark
