Those that fear me
Know not what they see
I do not skim away the flesh or hair
No, not right away.
I work slow
Getting in your skin
Ravaging your follicles
It's only a matter of time
Before I consume whats in view.
I do not pit your metal
The steel or fiberglass
The things you surround yourself with
Stripping the paint
Only a layer at a time
In the slow haul
The longevity of my pour
The downward winds
Gravity bringing me to your door.
Yes I am toxic
I accost your senses
But not right away
No, I work my way in slow.
Gently easing my way into the pores
Relentlessly attacking your senses
One drop at a time
Without cover to keep you alright
You are mine.
Come here and stay a while
Embrace my wet taste
Let me surround you
Envelope you
Corrupt your being
Tear into you at the cellular level
Manipulating your breath
Suffocating you at ease
With my pulmonary disease.
Oh yeah I will tear into you
But only little by little
A small bit of me at a time
So you aren't afraid
So you stay awhile and take me in
Not running away
But submitting to my humidified haze
Putting you in a daze
Confused later by what has happened.
Yeah, I'm Acid Rain
I'll dampen your sidestep
Riddle you with contempt
Break into your private space
Wrap you with cold embrace
Turn your skin red
Make you sweat
Make every inhale and gasp
Heavier and dense
