Our Dreams Beyond Stars...

There is a difference between this and those dreams,
Those tangled thoughts, where reason redeems.
Born from hours of pondering while awake,
Confused dreams that no true path take,
Mere whispers of the mind’s own schemes.

Indeed, much of what the dreamer sees,
Is but the echo of waking pleas.
A fleeting shadow of earthly care,
A mimicry of what we bear,
Such dreams dissolve like morning breeze.

And yet, there lies a darker stream,
Where Satan seeds his false dream scheme.
Twisting the soul with meanings profane,
A tempest of images, sharp and inane,
A shadowed path, devoid of gleam.

These dreams, the wise should cast away,
No thought to their tangled threads should stay.
For they lead to naught but restless nights,
And the fading of reason’s guiding lights,
A labyrinth where lost souls stray.

But then, authentic dreams take flight,
Where souls ascend in the still of night.
In separation from the earthly frame,
Inspired by gods sacred flame,
To glimpse what lies beyond our sight.

Have an exposition of sleep come upon me,
As Shakespeare mused in endless plea.
Do men reflect on the world of dreams,
And their titanic, unearthly streams?
Or dismiss their truths as fantasy?

For whilst some dreams faintly reflect the day,
Others open a vast, ethereal way.
Life, matter, time lose their hold,
In dreamscapes wrought of starlight gold,
Where thought itself begins to sway.

This less material life may be our truer fate,
Our waking hours but a fleeting state.
Bound to earth, yet longing to soar,
To realms unknown, to dream once more,
Through an all but impassable gate.

From blurred and fragmentary memories drawn,
We see glimpses of a cosmic dawn.
Where barriers fall, and spirits are free,
To drift through boundless eternity,
Where time and space are overthrown.

Sometimes, I believe, in sleep we roam,
Far from the place we call our home.
Through oceans of light, through shadowy towers,
Through valleys of stars and spectral hours,
Where the mind finds its eternal tome.

Dreamers dwell in this boundless spheres,
Between life and death, where truth is clear,
A silent place where thoughts roam free
Sacred space where minds can be,
To see what lies behind the veil,
In songs of stars, or a ghostly wail,
A world unknown, yet strangely near.

So, ponder the dreams that haunt your night,
Their meanings vast,
their endless flight.
For within their depths,
a truth may hide,
A reflection of life, or the soul’s great tide,
Beyond the waking world’s confining light,
In our minds,
our sub consciousness takes flight.
