“A Heart That Can’t Let Go”
My heart is strong, they say,
But it falters when you’re far away.
For you are the rhythm, the steady beat,
The warmth that makes its pulse complete.
You’re the love my soul was made to find,
The thread that weaves through heart and mind.
Without you near, the world turns gray,
The brightest sun feels dim today.
My soul tie, my love, my reason to breathe,
To lose you is more than my heart can grieve.
It’s like tearing the stars from the night,
Or breaking the dawn from the morning light.
Each memory of you is etched in my veins,
A blessing of joy, a shadow of pain.
For even as time may try to divide,
My love for you will never subside.
If the world should take you from my embrace,
I’d search every corner of time and space.
No force could bind me, no distance too far,
For you are my compass, my guiding star.
My heart may bend, may ache, may weep,
But the bond we share is buried deep.
Through life, through death, through endless skies,
I’ll love you, my soul tie, until the heart of me dies.
And even then, in the great unknown,
My spirit will find you, and call you home
