Diving In

Anger and aggression arrived at the pool today as I was getting in to do some laps.
A man ( by gender only) accompanied by his pregnant partner and infant child became incensed when someone in the walking lane told them that the other pools were for parents with toddlers.
The language he used was foul,insulting and mysoginstic and repeated over and over so that all within earshot could hear.
At first I thought, as most would, that he was an utter toss pot but as I swam the black line I considered other things.
I wondered where his anger came from.Was he taught by example from loveless parents?Did something or someone lead him down that macho bullshit path?Would his infant child absorb his poison?
He was easy to hate and I felt that rise in myself initially.Ten laps later I had nothing but compassion for him.I don't know his story but I do know that anger is a symptom of other mental maladies.
I wonder what his partner was thinking as he did the speaking for her.
I wonder if either of them were thinking at all.

Unless he changes,he will remain a man by gender only and a lost boy forever.

Who said swimming was boring?
