Fruit Puzzles

I try to picture you in my life,
sometimes it is hard.

It often feels like
you complete the impossible
puzzle that I have
broken my back hunching over.

                                      Then sometimes
                                  I worry you might
                   be holding some pieces
                                                                                              behind your back.

The thought scares me.

I desperately need
my life to fall together
like a nice fruit bowl
at the family gathering.

                 Something I can display,
                              and then it gets
    picked over and
swallowed.
