Guilt
You said you waited for me,
As if I hadn’t waited too.
You said my silence was a wound,
But what else could I do?
You claimed you knew the way to heal,
Yet left me in this bind,
We made our vows beneath the stars,
But mine were the ties that blind.
***
I can't escape the thought of you,
Is it wrong to wonder, too,
How do I move on,
When you’re still holding on?
Forgive me, please,
I beg for your mercy,
The love I left unfinished,
Was never meant to break you.
As if I hadn’t waited too.
You said my silence was a wound,
But what else could I do?
You claimed you knew the way to heal,
Yet left me in this bind,
We made our vows beneath the stars,
But mine were the ties that blind.
