Redemption (Open Verse)

Intro:
You know,
I once heard this quote
And this quote said
“No matter how hard your heart is broken, the world doesn’t stop for your grief”
So no matter how fractured you are, you can’t stop going
The world doesn’t stop, so we continue to move with it
So, let me take a moment to get this off of my chest

Verse:
The thought constantly haunts my mind
Of how you up and left me during the darkest of times
I thought when we agreed, I had your back, you had mine
I put my heart on the line, just to get stabbed in the spine

You brought nothing but pain and misery to my life
Filled with baggage and spite, your darkness had dimmed my light
I should’ve heeded those warnings you gave me in plain sight
Now I’m sitting here, drowning in the depths of my plight

Why open up when you never planned to earn my trust?
I showed love to a woman concerned with money and lust
Why accuse me about things that you were doing all this time?
Why speak the truth when the relationship was built on lies?

Why did you say hurtful things to emasculate my pride?
Why are you bringing me all of this chaos I despised
Your ungrateful ways truly had pushed me to the deep end
I kept faith even when you gave me nothing to believe in

Because you lied and said you’d never leave
Then lied and said you’d never cheat
Those promises were make believe
You fucked up all my energy

Your lack of understanding and respect was all perjury
We’re not together, your problems are no longer concerning me
The only remedy I need is herbal leaves and money trees
I wanted to see you shine, you wanted to see me bleed

Letting down my guard placed me in a bad position
So getting back to myself will be my biggest redemption
