Speckle and Heckle

In the dead of night when the world is still,
Two elves awaken with a mischievous thrill.
Speckle and Heckle, those pint-sized pests,
Plot pranks galore at their craft, they’re the best.

With giggles and whispers, they hatch their schemes,
Turning sweet slumber into chaotic dreams.
Speckle sneaks in with a pot of strong glue,
Sticking children’s faces to pillows askew.
Heckle, not one to be outdone,
Switches the lights so they spark when they’re spun.

They paint the dog’s tail in peppermint stripes,
Then they steal the battery's from Moms vibration device,
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr back massager.
You dirty minds !
They hide the cookies, scatter crumbs on the floor,
Blame the youngest child, what’s innocence for?

Mom’s lipstick is smeared on the snowman outside,
While Dad’s slippers hold something from the dog brown inside.
But just before dawn, they vanish from sight,
Snickering softly in the cold starlight.
For Speckle and Heckle, these tricks are divine
After all, it’s their version of yuletide design!
