The tower

I waited long for this or that
I ran just like a restless rat
And so I made the tower

Oh what achievement must I bring
To life before my heart can sing
What input must I still consume
Before I'll bring my soul to bloom

So I sat every hour
Imprisoned in the tower

But now a wonder graced my world
I sit and let my life unfold
Within myself, stories untold
A wisdom like the wise of old

I see that joy is always here
A breath away, jaw-dropping near
For what the wise man said is true
Even though clouds darken my soul

Above them the great sky is blue

In nothingness a truth I found
That unlocks riches without bound
I no more wait for any hour

And thus I have torn down the tower

Author's Note
I have food, water, a warm home, a comfortable bed...I need more things, more input to be happy because? Because nothing. Happiness is already here. I just have to be still and allow it to surface.
