The Galaxy

Walking into the Galaxy

Got a few spare coins so I
See if I can set the high score

Drop some metal into the chamber

Hear it sink down out of my existence
Metal ball falls into the groove
Pull it back then I let it loose

See twinkling lights and hear bells ring
As it falls back to me

Got to be quick with the flippers
Hits off the bumper and I swing it back

I’m too fast for this smooth metal Pearl
It comes right back at me and I agree
That I have magic fingertips
Push the button what comes next

In the hole a beat past one
Kicks it out so I can continue this song

But I have to be fast to save this one

Hits some rubber and rebounds
My fingers have it figured out
So I hit the left and hit the right
Sometimes I do both at the same time
Slap them two just like a 1 2

Look up I’m the Jungle Queen
See my name at the top of the screen

I just did my all time best but
As I walk out of the pinball museum

Look down and check my pockets
I just lost my paper boy money

Author's Note
I had a love affair with pinball and still do but I don’t get the chance to play much lately. Takes me back to the arcade at the mall.
