The walking miracle

A walking miracle you are
A hidden warrior
You’ve felt the battle scars on your skin
Your chosen ones left too soon
Maybe a few were kin
You put up a wall high enough
So no one can come in
Your walls are cracking
You find out you can still laugh
You smile and every once in a while
You turn your light back on
It’s amazing what your body can do
And what your heart feels
It’s radical
The walking miracle
You are
The warrior within you can now sleep in peace
The war was won
You can still go on

Author's Note
I did a cycling class today and while I haven’t felt the best some days, today my coach said some inspiring words “it’s incredible what your body can do, you’re a walking miracle and you’re just as awesome as you were yesterday “ so for anyone that needs to hear it, you are a walking miracle. And to the veterans thank you for your service
