House of Cards

I used to think
That it couldn't stand
not my house of cards.
But lady luck has changed my hand
This game might be different, in my regards.

I used to think that
it was fragile,
The smallest of things
Even then, none could reconcile.

That it could be so easily broken,
and warped past recognizing.
All of the suites would fall away,
When we were too busy sympathizing.

But the cards weren't bent
and the money I lent
helps to pay the Joker's rent
So let's go all in now.

The house hasn't fallen,
and the dealer’s still callin’
and in debt I'm not crawling,
So let's go all in now.

This house of cards
I bet against,
Is still standing
At its best.

This isn't a weak force
You proved me right.
When we went a round
and I saw the light.

I never thought it would
My hopes were pretty low.
I never thought I'd see you
in the same show.

Yet my house is still full
and the dice didn’t roll
and the Queen of Hearts is still in control
So let's go all in now.

The hand is still a flush
and I'm feeling that rush,
and somehow the red worn carpet is still plush,
So let's go all in now.

This house of cards
I bet against,
Is still standing
At its best.

Old Jack should have gone home
Awhile ago.
And the ace of hearts too.
Yet here this house of cards still stands,
Let's go another hand.
