Priestess of Constantinople
Priestess of Constantinople
Blue scimitars of her Oriental eyes
With auburn brows to match the fire
In her snake eyes
That peer into the prism
Into the heart of a pleasure palace
Where she is an odalisque
Who reclines in lap of Sultan
Adorned in the finest turquoise necklace
Bought from merchant of Petra’s dusty façade
As she traveled by camel on the shifting sands
Only to arrive at the gates of Constantinople
On her journey into a Byzantine labyrinth
Where she is a priestess of love in an antique land
Whose midnight mass swells in her breast
When I kiss her feet in the throes of devotion
To the missing gem in my mosaic of eternity
Blue scimitars of her Oriental eyes
With auburn brows to match the fire
In her snake eyes
That peer into the prism
Into the heart of a pleasure palace
Where she is an odalisque
Who reclines in lap of Sultan
Adorned in the finest turquoise necklace
Bought from merchant of Petra’s dusty façade
As she traveled by camel on the shifting sands
Only to arrive at the gates of Constantinople
On her journey into a Byzantine labyrinth
Where she is a priestess of love in an antique land
Whose midnight mass swells in her breast
When I kiss her feet in the throes of devotion
To the missing gem in my mosaic of eternity
