Searing Pacifier
The blue flame held against the flesh,
a searing pacifier,
to soothe the blaze within
that melts the soul.
Like dousing a fire with another.
Tears could no longer pacify the pain
the way this burning candle did.
Hoping it leaves a stain
to last like a stamp,
a tribute to the internal scorch.
