The Box

Cleaning somehow
Made me remember that I was grieving
I opened a box
The one I haven’t seen in years
A few letters brought me to tears
Had it really only been 5 years?
What world did I live in
Back then
A house of laughter
Phone calls
Then it was fall
And you left it all
For a home in the sky
I didn’t get to say goodbye

Author's Note
I found myself cleaning today and I found my letter box, honestly it opened a few old wounds
Grief has no expiration date and if you’re in the same shoes as me I hope you find peace
