I and You
Sitting beside the lake
Watching hens swim with drakes
'Neath the boughs of a yew
As a gentle breeze blew
We took sup of warm stew
Upon grass topped with dew
While we sipped potent brew
It got dark ere we knew
The sky full of stars
As if with glitter bestrew
That bright twinkle in your eye
Kindled hearts' flames anew
I felt love in my bones
And in every sinew
Fully caught up in you
As we sat 'neath that yew
Rays shimmering 'pon the waters
Like the steam over our stew
We watched the sun setting
Our pants damp from the dew
Our fingers entwined
As we cherished the view
