Birth in Red

Birth in Red

Love the unborn
Born on your own

Glasses clink in the diner
Susie just got a job

Long hair long legs
Fryer sees her impressed

Young love in French fries
She glances he prepares

Few weeks later
Bun in the oven

I’m not ready
He’s not ready

In the state we live in
Have to deliver

If he/she comes out
State turns around
We’re not responsible

Scream from the trees
Save the babies

Out of womb
On your own

Say life is precious
Their actions disingenuous

Author's Note
It’s funny they love the unborn in red states but cut funding for Medicaid and WIC and chasing doctors out of the state.
