Echoes of Us
In the quiet hours, shadows stretch and sigh,
Memories whisper like wind through the trees,
Each leaf a fragment of laughter gone by,
The warmth of your touch still dances in the breeze.
We wandered through nights painted gold by the moon,
With dreams spun from starlight, our hearts intertwined.
But time, that sly thief, played a melancholy tune,
And love, once a fire, became echoes, unkind.
Your laughter, a melody, haunts the still air,
Each note a reminder of moments we shared.
Yet silence, a blanket, wraps tight in despair,
In the spaces between us, your absence is bared.
But I gather the echoes, the sweet and the sad,
Like petals from flowers we watched bloom and fade.
For in every heartache, there's beauty to be had,
A tapestry woven of love that won’t trade.
So here in the twilight, I cherish the past,
With each gentle heartbeat, I honor the flame.
Though the years may be fleeting, our love will outlast,
In the echoes of us, I’ll whisper your name.

In the echoes of us, I’ll whisper your name.
