I really dislike senryu and haiku style poetry. This is an exception. Well done for overcoming my strong prejudice on the matter.

haiku doesn't always work . But when it does it hits you right between the eyes

I feel exactly the same way. My wife thinks I'm weird, but she is sure appreciative of my "weirdness". It is nice to know that a fellow poet shares my weirdness because I will take weird and happy over normal and miserable every time.
