Hymn for the Plastered
Hymn for the Plastered
I’m a drunk I’m trying to be a dad
Sit n stew get drunk before work
Hoping that these 8 hours wear off
Forgetting I have children looking at a lost father
Wake up in the sins that I deliver
Toss and turn my hip my shoulder are tender
I’m a drunk just like my father who I swear I would never be
I wish I wasn’t writing this but this is who I am
So I follow in the footsteps of my father
Trying to be a real dad
But everywhere I turn I go back to sin
I want to break free from the demons that follow me
Hope you’re listening you don’t want to end up like me
Let this be a hymn to those who are suffering
