Longing for you

I dreamt of you
The whole night
And in my dreams
Were countless scenarios
Where your lips ended up on mine

I awoke in hopes
Of seeing you tonight
Yet upon arriving
The party was already starting
And you were not there  

I waited for you
Searching for your
Emerald green eyes
Amongst the dancing bodies
Yet in vain, you never came

Thus my mood turned sour
And my heart ached
The night was disappointing
And nothing I did
Could make that change

And there, in the darkness I lay
Longing for your embrace
The sound of your voice
The touch of your hands
But alone I slept
