Image for the poem LXXVII

LXXVII

I may not be Picasso, but will you sit back and watch how
Each piece, each word and each letter compose my unfinished painting.

Gesso on the blank canvas, loading the brush with a colorful palette of thoughts,
Guiding the brushstrokes to create art with pigments of writing.

Gradient shades blend from the darkest hues to the glimpse of lights,
Chiaroscuro of tones and layout of emotions in a crescendo.

Trace your fingertips over the top, feel the textured undulation of layers,
Begging to escape and blossom from the multi dimensional surface of impasto.

Reflections underdrawn, only known by me, kept in the background,
Before sculpting a cover with the visible foreground.

Grazing the artwork with varnish to present the final version to you,
Imperfectly beautiful in its own gallery waiting to be found.

Making this on my 77th piece, since I'm not sure if I'll make it to 777.
