Ish

The day I left you,
my world stood still.
A void within, no heart to fill.
My soul, once whole, now torn apart.
You were the anchor to my heart.

In letting go,
I lost my way.
The sanity that kept at bay.
A piece of me, forever gone.
In parting ways, I lost the dawn.

The nights grew long,
the days so cold.
Without your warmth,
my heart grew old.
Memories of you, a haunting song.
In silence, I now belong.

I search for light,
but shadows stay.
In dreams, you’re never far away.
A ghost of love, a whispered name.
In losing you, I lost the flame.

Yet hope remains, a distant star,
A wish that heals each hidden scar.
For in the pain, I find my strength.
To face the world, at any length.

With time, my heart begins to mend.
New paths to walk, new dreams to tend.
The dawn returns, the light anew,
In finding me, I find you too.
