On Paper

Did you beg for the nightmare to end?
While the vision crept in soft silence
Tucked in tight in need of protection
Seeking refuge from hostile violence

Charismatic beasts control your world
Manipulating all that was held so dear
Shadows stir inside some cruel room
Lusting off innocence feeding on fear

Thunder drums within your fragile mind
Lightning crashes against a sinful nature
Humans performing acts of blasphemy
Worshipping a god they print on paper

Author's Note
Late night musing. Money is the root of all evil, or so they say. You have to take into account the amount you have. If your greed is strong enough and you have tons of funds, well it will bring out the worst in you. Maybe it even haunts their dreams. Appreciate you.
