in the morning sky

joggers, doggers, people walking,
under flying geese,
on their phones forever talking
it never seems to cease

blah blah blah we're separated
from enjoying this
place and moment here created -
early morning's bliss

sunlight bouncing on the ocean
reflecting all around,
on a ship in quiet motion
here where I am found

drinking tea while I'm observing
what there is to see
boomeranging thoughts are curving
away then back to me

as popcorn clouds in quiet motion
are in the morning sky
sunlight's glinting from the ocean
