Eve.
Little sweet girl of rosy cheeks
Sprung from her prison finally…
Wearing her dress of yellowed bone
His ribs that were taken to give her life,
She didn’t like the debt she was made to owe
So she ripped them out and sucked them dry,
Smearing crimson around her mouth
Smiling that smile with dimpled cheeks,
She left the gates that trapped her in
But beneath her cloak was a seed of hope,
Concealed from His voyeuristic view
Nothing more than a piece of fruit,
But it was that piece of fruit she tossed to the starved
Feeding them knowledge of freedom and thought,
But this was a sin, something “wrong”
Punishment was given to this brave soul,
All she had ever meant was to share the sight
Now she suffers, bleeding…broke
I’m sorry Eve, I hope it’ll be alright.
