Bleeding Corpse

Check under your bed,
You’ll find your mask of virtue,
You wear it well as you carry on
Living as if nothing ever happened.

While your victim is drowning
In consequences of your own actions
Ones beyond their control
Consumed by the aftermath.

Go on, smile while you do so,
Savor your coffee, toast,
Eggs, or whatever you're having,
While another decays into ashes.

Perplexed when you drove
That knife into their neck,
Tracing the blade along their body,
A canvas that will forever bleeds.

You've mastered your art,
Everyone is oblivious of your crime,
Except for that lifeless corpse, but really, what can it do,
Get a Ouija board to reveal the truth?
