Eclipse
A spark of electricity
Between us
Overwhelming the senses
Intertwined in a passionate embrace.
This is the dream.
This is the desire.
We see Fate's intention
Detrimental to us
Beneficial to all
We are the precipice of survival
You, the sun
I, the moon
Separated forevermore
But just once
Once in a thousand years
The yearning for connection ceases
A joining of such primal lust
And longing
Sated but for a moment
As our lonely souls sing sweet pain.
Yet the bitterness is back
No.
This moment was never meant to last
For Fate has intentions
Malevolent for our long-awaited union
Benign for the plague of humanity.
Which is more important?
I have waited an eternity to feel your warmth
And felt nothing but freezing Disappointment
As you slip through my grasp once again.
Chasing each other fruitlessly
An endless, intrepid pursuit for a love
We can never contain
And never sustain.
The ache of our unfulfilled desire
To exist as one.
Nothing can ever unite us.
But for the Eclipse.
Between us
Overwhelming the senses
Intertwined in a passionate embrace.
This is the dream.
This is the desire.
We see Fate's intention
Detrimental to us
Beneficial to all
We are the precipice of survival
You, the sun
