Saving Humanity

I jumped into my suit,
to prepare for the big boost.

Chills roll down my spine,
and nerves take over my mind.

Five, four, three, two, one, .......
body shaking, fear awakening.
Thrusters go and rockets flow.

Out of the atmosphere and into space.
The journey begins to stop humanities fate.

Passing stars at quantum speeds,
I explore planets in a stellar breeze.

Another planet under way,
a sense of something strange directly ahead.
A sort of lunatic fringe I see floating out in front of me.

Coming from the outer reaches of the cosmos, a being like none other, not from this world or the next.

Clear to me this thing seeks to eliminate
the human race and conquer the universe.

With laser guided pistols in hand,
plasma blasts effect mother queen not.
She's no pushover in need of closure.
Just a swift kick in the alien ass.

In need of a solution and planet Earth in eminent danger of extinction.

Hall breached and taken fire,
oh, the gore, so much horror.
This life taker must go!

Off to my right my eager eyes see,
a weapon waiting for me.

I make my approach, but am stop just short, by this evil croak.
Claws so long, it could rip my throat to shreds.

Crawling along the almost totally ravaged ship, in need of a stiff drink.
I dodge horrifying strikes and cheat death twice.
All at the chance of getting my earth saving device.

With one glance i took my only chance.
To be the man, with my Super Nuclear Spacious Ass Kick'n Bodacious Triple Deluxe Beam Cannon.

Time to send this savage element back to the outer limits.
Shattered and clattered spinning about i blast her into splattered matter.

The evil has ended, saving humanity, I'm commended.
My pension and two million space bucks, to end it.
More so, a great tale for my grandchildren.
