What Says The Moon

Last night I was lonely and sat
on the ledge of my window
Drawing me in was a shimmering
disc hanging in the veil of the
night sky's shadow
It's brilliance came boldly glinting in my room
I sat for awhile and felt a light breeze
which smelled of scented perfume

I glanced at this orris-silver sphere
with longing of words soft-spoken
Sharing my secrets with him,
my heart was broken
I asked him why someone would ever leave me
He said, listen, dear one, I will tell you
and you will see

People are just like me with all the faults and frailties, he continued
They can illuminate the night or
darken your soul with impurity
Although I am beautiful, I have my imperfections
Stay here with me, I will guide you with direction

Many will hurt you and make you blue
You are asking my advice
But You see, he said, I have a dark side too
