The hard way

Our world seems to be full of rage
There is outrage about the smallest mistakes
This is the easy way

For it is easy to go online and be outraged
It is easy to be "real"
And put all respect for others aside

It is much harder to contain yourself
And make constructive suggestions
Naming problems clearly, but without being disrespectful

It is hard to have compassion with someone who failed
It is easy to self-righteously condemn them

As if we ourselves never made mistakes

Next time someone's mistake is made public
We have a choice
Do we want to choose the easy way of self-righteousness
Or the hard way of compassion and true understanding?

It is up to each of us
