western channel dreams

she was bummed I didn’t have chaps
so I let her borrow my cowboy hat
and there eying my printed lasso undies
straddling my legs is where she sat

I said, well you can’t judge a horse
until you get it out of the barn
trot him around the arena
I think he’ll respond well to your charms

I was admiring her cowgirl boots
red and on the sides stars were stitched
her breasts swinging in wide circles
as around the corral she lead me unhitched

I was reminded of that song “Down in the Valley”
where her hair was silky if even there
but along the creek sides it grew darker
under the circumstances I’d say my observation was fair

she startled me from my pondering
saying it’s time this cowgirl mounted up hondo
my point of view slowly disappearing from sight
until she cinched tight against my conchos

she was hooting, waving my hat above her head
looking down saying, cowboy never you fret
this is gonna be that one rodeo
you enjoy being rode hard and put up wet
