Image for the poem fated to grieve

fated to grieve

dwindling on the cosmic web I catch droplets of dew
cooled and jeweled thrumming my yarn with notes of understanding
you speak to my pneuma with a direct meaning
I with an identic memory picture your face
we were one and no one will replace you in my soul

I can sing myself to sleep but I will only awaken to the pain of losing
a gentle touch a forget me knot is your kind way of saying goodbye
little momentoes I know my love is too much
it calls to you in your reverie

I wish I could be more honorable but I came just for you
and I know I will never see you again
not as you once were this world has left us scarred
and I know you found someone else to make the edges fade

I have looked and no one dulls my ache
I am an outcast it is my penance for loving you
my punishment handed down so swiftly

I hang my head in sorrow
at least everyone is free
I will go on to dream a new dream
please brother it's easier to forget
than grieve the hole in my heart
