Have To Say No To Trump
My nature is not to bash others
who don't share my political preferences
always being the political scientist
I try to comprehend where others are
I am not an apologist for the Democratic Party
or Uncle Joe, a Kissinger devotee
the declaration of love for capitalism in the fast lane
abandoning Anita Hill
Didn't have my support in 1988, 2008, or 2020
the Democratic Leadership Council will always have my scorn
but when something repugnant and vile comes along
how can I remain silent
Inflammatory rhetoric "grab 'em by the pussy"
even piddling with dictatorial behavior
taking out revenge on enemies
and throwing out blatant lies like Gríma Wormtongue
Can it be anymore unAmerican to embrace
a representation form of government
only when one can have it your way
advocating for women having less rights depending on the state
No "I didn't come here to praise Caesar"
but simply appeal to you as a fellow citizen
to look to our better nature
and not make your worst fears the undoing
of the United (still united) States of America

Thanks, it is taking a lot out of me to not feel jaded as a lifelong supporter of causes and candidates labeled as "far left", but I truly can't vision much positive to wake up to in January with Republicans controlling bothhouses of congress, the executive branch, and guys like Alito and Thomas declaring that the Supreme Court knows better than Congress how federal agencies can act. They already declared that corporations are people!
Although MAGA likes to throw accusations of racism at everything but themselves, I don't think they're fooling anyone with half a brain or better.
Biden's record could have been better, but I think he did improve with the years on most issues, at least a little, while Trump is still the rage motivated white supremacist that he always has been.
