Don’t Leave Me By Myself…

My mind is a mess,
and usually i’m pretty organized.
But today is a day of darkness,
no more sunny skies.
It’s mostly cloudy, the world’s gone gray.
Would it be worse, if I asked you to stay?
I don’t want to be in my own company,
it’s no good for me.
No rainbows, just rain boots and rain coats.
Do I dare jump in the puddles?
What if it’s too deep?
I see what I thought to be my reflection, but it isn’t me.
The rain has yet to stop falling,
when will it end?
If I called on you, could you be my friend?
Could you be my diary?
The one that I write poems in,
and set my feelings free.
When the day has been too much,
and it’s myself that I can’t trust,
could I ask that of you?
Or is it too much?
Sometimes I’m too much,
I’m too intense.
I know…
I reek of desperation, it’s a dreadful stench.
But to be in your arms, it’s cleanses me.
I cling to your warmth, as if it’s life or death.
Just please, I’m begging you,
don’t leave me by myself….
