Not Animus, But Awareness
The bigger aim of Critical Race Theory is not for present day whites to feel guilty about the behaviors of those they are related to,
Distantly or otherwise,
The goal is to have those who are here now
(When presented with opportunities to be "fukkd up or fair")
choose to make better choices than did those folks who are no longer here
One cannot unring a Bell
One can, however,
never ring it again

There’s truth and power to your words, Mr. 300.
Until recently, I walked around feeling guilty for the color of my skin and for the way my family behaved. I thought no matter what I did I couldn’t change the colossal fuckup my ancestors caused, my family was still causing and some of the people I knew still caused. It took a while for it to sink in that continuing with my own behavior and doing my best to help others make better choices was the best course of action. You would think that should have been simple thing to figure out, but it wasn’t.
