List #10 Favorite Quotations
1. "It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how many calories you burn playing the game." - Me (probably many others too). I think this to myself when my aim is off on the basketball court.
2. "You sir, are drunk!" "And you madam are ugly. The difference is in the morning I shall be sober." - Sir Winston Churchill. Slay. Major slay.
3. "Have you ever noticed there aren't any rocket scientists named Wendy?"- David Letterman. Made me laugh when he said it as a throwaway line on his show years ago. Not one of my favorite quotes, but this is just a quick, sloppy write. Which I'm fine with.
4. "Come on Wendy, tramps like us, baby we were born to run." - Bruce Springsteen (Born to Run). I like having my name in a great song, It makes me fantasize a life much different than mine. You know, with someone like Bruce.
5. "Wendy, Wendy what went wrong?"- The Beach Boys (Wendy). We Wendys are a neurotic lot I guess. Again, not one of my favorite quotes. Just another Wendy song.
6. If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life thinking it is stupid"- Albert Einstein, or not Albert Einstein. Depends who you ask. I like this quote as a teacher, because I do like to help students recognize their unique talents.
7. "A ship is safe in a harbor, but that is not what ships are built for"- Helen Keller. Well, it's true, isn't it? I have limited respect for people who stay in their harbor all their lives.
8. "Be the change you want to see in the world" - Mahatma Ghandi. Yeah. Quit whining and take action.
9. " I don't do drugs. I am drugs."- Salvador Dali. Indeed. Yes, this quote is part of my profile.
10. "He who is not busy being born is busy dying"- Bob Dylan. I have an 88-year-old poet friend who is
a nationally known artist. She still creates amazing art, every day. Let that be all of us with our poetry
(and whatever else) at 88.
