This dark portal has been
a great mystery to me.
It is a source of pleasure but
also holds the possibility of new life.
It can be an instrument of healing
or a tool of greed.
Please see it as an act of deep giving
when I choose, quite deliberately
and with forethought, to
open myself to you.

A rewrite of an earlier poem. The newness of being single. The newness of being a mother. All of it is overwhelming but I'm loving having the freedom too share love in newness even though a part of me misses Joseph.
