On That Night
On that night, two children of creation said yes to the possibility of love.
On that night, rights and wrongs lost their meaning. The modesty so carefully instilled by church and family fell away like a summer dress falling to the floor.
In one magical moment, I sank into the heat of her sacred space, and remained there, still and quiet, in reverence for her gift. For that time, I held all her yesterdays, todays, and tomorrows in my embrace.
On that night, without modesty or shame, I invested the offerings I’d been given by the creator of all novice loves.
