Add A Letter, Drop A Letter

 

Once again, misconstrued perception distorted my opinion of reality

My ignorance once more popped me dead in the grill
Pointed out my hubris
Forcefully reminded me that I should pay closer attention

I know a lot of words
Use em properly most times

Found a few I been messin up with big time
(Slave) and (En)Slave

Just realized that those people in pictures wearing shackles and dejected looks are actually people who are "enslaved"
They were beaten, tortured, and chained to prevent escape and self-defense

"Slave" is a natural state of existence
Those people wearing chains had to be beaten,twisted, and torn

They are compliant
but unwilling

They're (enslaved) "people"
Unwilling servitude is not their natural born state of existence

50 years of living
40 years of reading
35 years of writing

And I'm just now noticing the difference
