Forgive But Never Forget
When I am gone
I will be gone
You’ll try to poke me
With your stick
And realize
I’m so far up in the sky
You cannot tell if I am the sun glaring at you
Or the rain spitting on your face
Fun fact?
I won’t be either
I will be the moon
Watching you look at me
In wonder
In love
And I will look back
And think
I

I don’t forgive them yet. I know in time I will. And when I do forgive, that means I absolutely will never forget. They are going to make my life a living hell for one last year, but it’s okay, because once senior year is over, bye byeeee :)

I love this poem. The strength and power that you exude is incredible! To know that they will not stop you from achieving what you want. To know that they cannot break you. To know that they cannot make you into a hateful person. You have the power to be who or what you want. Nobody can take that from you. You choose love even when you are shown hate. That is beautiful and that is power.
When you are ready, you will forgive. Not for them. Not because they deserve it. You will do it for you, because you deserve it. You deserve to live a life without the weight of cruelty. You do not have to carry the burden with you. You do not need to carry around this anger or sadness. They are not worthy of occupying that space in your mind. You will fill it with the things you care about. The things that bring you joy.
This is one of my favorite writes of yours because I feel it really captures who you are as a person. Nicely done girl. Proud of you, as always. You're almost out. Keep pressing forward and keep being true to yourself no matter what. <3
